Regional Director - Health & Social Care (Sussex Region)

Location: Sussex (Regional Role)
Reports to: Director / Senior Leadership
Direct Reports: 3 Regional Operations Managers
Scope: Approx. 10 branches
Sector: Fast-growing, tech-enabled care group
Salary: £90,000 plus car allowance 

Role Purpose

This is a senior leadership role within one of Europe’s fastest-growing, technology-driven care groups. The organisation is recognised for its innovative use of digital tools and AI to improve care delivery, streamline operations, and enhance outcomes for service users.

The Regional Director is responsible for leading operational performance, quality, compliance, and financial delivery across a multi-site region. You will provide strategic leadership to Branch Managers and operational teams, ensuring safe, compliant, person-centred services and strong commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & People Management

  • Provide clear direction and leadership to Branch Managers and operational teams.

  • Lead, motivate and develop three Regional Operations Managers, ensuring strong performance and succession planning.

  • Conduct performance management, supervision and annual appraisals for direct reports.

  • Build a high-performance culture aligned with organisational values and digital-first ways of working.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee day-to-day operations across ~10 branches, ensuring safe, compliant, high-quality service delivery.

  • Ensure policies, procedures and governance frameworks are implemented consistently.

  • Conduct regular branch visits, including unannounced inspections.

  • Support the adoption of digital tools and AI-enabled systems to improve efficiency and care quality.

Quality, Compliance & Safeguarding

  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory standards and internal governance.

  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of service users.

  • Lead on action plans following audits, inspections, or quality reviews.

  • Embed a culture of continuous improvement and learning.

Financial & Commercial Accountability

  • Take accountability for regional financial performance, budgets, and expenditure.

  • Support branches to achieve growth, efficiency, and profitability targets.

  • Use data-driven insights and digital reporting tools to inform decision-making.

Strategic Delivery

  • Contribute to annual business planning and communicate priorities across the region.

  • Drive continuous improvement and service development aligned with organisational goals.

  • Support innovation and the rollout of new technology-enabled initiatives.

Person Specification

Essential Experience

  • Senior leadership experience within health & social care or a similar regulated environment.

  • Experience managing multi-site operations and leading managers.

  • Strong understanding of domiciliary care operations.

  • Proven ability to manage budgets and financial performance.

  • Comfortable working within a tech-enabled, data-driven organisation.

Essential Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to interpret and produce budget plans.

  • Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and lead multidisciplinary teams.

  • Confident using digital systems, dashboards, and technology-supported workflows.
