Clinical Lead - Care Home, Wantage
Salary: £55,000
A well-established, modern care home in Wantage is looking for a Clinical Lead who can bring steady clinical oversight, good judgement and a clear approach to standards. You’ll work closely with the General Manager and wider team to keep the service running well day-to-day, support colleagues, and gradually take on broader responsibility as you grow towards a Deputy Manager remit.
The Role
You’ll be the clinical point of consistency across a 74-bed home offering residential, nursing and dementia care. The dementia community is a key part of the service, and you’ll work closely with the leadership team to maintain strong standards, support colleagues and keep clinical practice aligned across all areas.

Supporting the leadership team to maintain high standards across the home

Keeping accurate, up-to-date clinical records and care plans

Promoting safe, effective clinical practice and coaching others to do the same

Supporting the General Manager during inspections

Contributing to recruiting and retaining strong team members
This is a well-established home in a quieter part of Oxfordshire, with a committed team and a clear structure. What it needs now is a Clinical Lead who understands the realities of the role, can set the tone clinically, and provide consistency across the service.
The General Manager has been with the home for several years and also supports a sister home opening this summer, giving you the opportunity to step forward at times and act as the senior clinical presence.
What You’ll Bring

RGN or RMN registration and a valid pin

Experience leading or supporting clinical teams

A steady, people-centred leadership style

Strong communication skills and the confidence to guide others

A genuine interest in developing towards a Deputy Manager role

Sector experience preferred, but we will consider strong clinicians from adjacent environments who understand the scope of a Clinical Lead position and are ready to learn
